Lagos is a vibrant and bustling city with a rich cultural scene and warm hospitality. Please note that Lagos is not a malaria-free zone.
Delegates are advised to take standard malaria prevention precautions. In addition to any medical recommendations provided by your healthcare professional, general preventive measures include:
We encourage all delegates to review official travel health guidance from their local health authority prior to travel.
April in Lagos marks the beginning of the rainy season. Expect hot and humid conditions, with average daytime temperatures ranging between 28°C and 34°C (82°F to 93°F). Rain showers are frequent but often brief, usually occurring in the late afternoon or evening. It’s advisable to carry a light umbrella or rain jacket and stay hydrated throughout the day.
Pack lightweight, breathable clothing such as cotton or linen, due to the heat and humidity. Smart casual attire is suitable for most conference sessions. For formal events like the gala dinner - evening, traditional or formal cultural wear is encouraged. Bring comfortable walking shoes, and consider a light shawl or jacket for indoor venues with strong air-conditioning.
